About

I’ve been a post surgical nurse for going on 3 years now and completely unsure of where I was headed. I have considered a lot of different directions to go but God has called me to Mercy Ships, a global charity organization that has turned a ship into an operating hospital! This organization has helped thousands of people who have little to no access to healthcare. I have been with the ship for 4 years now, it’s crazy how time flies! With Mercy Ships I have been to Madagascar, Benin, Cameroon, Guinea, and Senegal to bring hope and healing to the poor and marginalized. I am so honored to be able to use my skills as a nurse in such an cool way! I will be blogging throughout my journey, so stay tuned! I truly hope that this blog brings you hope and a new perspective as you read through my life aboard the Africa Mercy.

“I think that every human being has the right to look human. To be treated as human. To have a place at the table of the human race. And when you have been deprived that seat, and it’s offered to you again…to be able to re-enter the human race and to look like everyone else..that’s a fantastic thing.”  -Dr. Gary Parker
